MAKE: Disney Autograph Books

We just recently returned from our family vacation to Disney World.  I’ve been to the most magical place on Earth no less than 20 times, but I must confess that this was a very special one and I just fell in love with it all over again!  While it may have been my 20 some odd trip, it was our sweet Lil B’s very first trek.

To make the most magical place on Earth even more special, we invited along all four grands to join us on the trip.  This was their Christmas gift from our family, and I think the definition of a win – win!  The grands enjoyed a lovely {but exhausting} time and I didn’t have to search high and low for Christmas gifts … perfecto!  And while the rainy weather did it’s best to keep the fun at bay … we were victorious and enjoyed our time on vaca!  {{{A little rain never hurt anyone, right?}}}

Disney Travel Tips for Families, First time to Disney

For months leading up to the trip, I researched and poured over all sorts of resources to plan the very best trip ever.  One of my favorite tips was to bring an autograph book for the littles to greet the character friends with at the parks.  With Lil B’s 2 year old attitude towards all things in costumes being a bit unknown, giving him a “job” to do when he met the characters kept him extremely calm.  To be honest, he loved the characters and the signatures were just the cherry on top!

I looked at a few resources on autograph books and priced the Disney Store ones.  After laying eyes on the options, I figured I could make my own that was personalized and custom to our trip for just a few dollars.  A plan was formed and here’s what I made.

DIY Disney Autograph Book

I used several free fonts readily available online {{{just search for Disney fonts}}} and built a template that took a standard 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and cut it in half to form each book page.  This made the price for printing and binding really inexpensive – printers love standard sizes :).  To print and bind, I trusted my friends over at Office Max so that the color print was top quality and the binding was done.

Let’s just say it was a hit!

I can’t hardly believe I’m saying it … but I’m ready to go back!
